Early Music In The Communities
Early Music In The Communities
In 2008–09, our audiences in Brown County increased in each of four successive concerts, fulfilling our mission of building audiences for early music in underserved counties
(see Past Events).
In April 2010, Early Music In the Communities started a new series
“For the Love of it,” a program featuring local, early–music musicians both amateur and professional.
The first performance was at the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium and consisted of music for voice, recorder & harpsichord, performed by Beth Garfinkel, soprano & harpsichord, and Charles Fischer, recorders.

Early Music In the Communities acknowledges the generous support of the Indiana Arts Commission, the Brown County Community Foundation, and the late Howard Hughes.
Early Music In The Communities (EMIC) is a partnership between our organization, public spaces, and public libraries in Indiana counties of region 8 (Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Morgan, Owen & Monroe counties). This partnership gives us the possibility to serve over 120,000 active library patrons of this region, and to perform chamber music in some of our most rural neighboring areas.
